On the journey of building Friends of the Asian Elephant Foundation, I encountered a wide range of problems. I suffered tremendously, and almost lost my own life in the process. I had health problems. I was surrounded by many dangers.

ชีวิตรันทดของเพื่อนช้างที่ดิฉันกำลังเขียนอยู่นี้ ดิฉันเขียนจากความรู้สึกในเบื้องลึก การใช้ภาษา การวางประโยชน์อาจไม่สมบูรณ์ ไม่ระรื่นสละสลวยตามความงามของภาษา แต่ขอให้ท่านผู้อ่านได้โปรดเข้าใจเถิดว่า สิ่งที่ดิฉันเขียนทุกปลายปากกา หรือแม้นแต่ใช้การพิมพ์นั้น เท่ากับการจรดมีดกรีดลงในใจที่ชอกช้ำ

I am here writing about the life of great sadness of a true friend of elephants, telling you my story from the depths of my soul. The goal may not be one of accomplishing idealistic standards in the weaving together of language, in the placements of sentences and phrasings. What I have to say may not flow in harmony with the beauty of language that otherwise should be presented in its artistry. But I ask the reader to please understand everything being expressed, regardless of whether my words are coming from the pen or the keyboard. Every word is equivalent to a knife carving into the flesh of this heart that has been repeatedly bruised and wounded.

มีบางคนค่อนว่า ว่ามีนักแสดงความรู้สึกเรื่องช้าง บีบน้ำตาร้องไห้ ดิฉันได้แต่สะท้อนใจ ดิฉันร้องไห้มานานแล้วค่ะ ร้องไห้จนเกือบจะไม่มีน้ำตา

Some say there is a certain actress who has been expressing such emotions about elephants, and putting on a tearful scene. I can only reflect upon their views in helpless observation. I have been crying for such a long time, crying to the point where I almost have no tears left.

เรื่องราวที่ดิฉันจะเล่าอาจจะเป็นเรื่องธรรมดา เรื่องตลกขบขัน เรื่องเศร้าเคล้าน้ำตา แต่ทุกเรื่องมีที่มา ที่ไป มีความสุข ความทุกข์ ความสะเทือนใจปะปน และระคนด้วยเหตุจากประสบการณ์ที่พานพบมาทั้งสิ้น

What I have to say may only be something ordinary, or humourous, or sad and tearful. But every story has its own origins, backgrounds and contexts. Some stories are happy, some are sad, or moving. And all these stories of mine are blended with the totality of my own experiences.
